GuitarTrio 1+2

GuitarTrio 1+2

Maria Camitz, Lars Henning Jensen, Leif Hesselberg

When a third instrument is combined with a traditional guitar duo the musical results go in very surprising direktions; new roads open up and a whole new universe of sound and colour unfolds.

GuitarTrio 1+2 has worked within this special setting for over 10 years. Their expertise and means of expression have inspired several leading Danish composers to write and dedicate new music to them.

The spectrum of timbres created by three guitars is large and varied, spanning from delicate and sophisticated to dramatic and percussive. The repertoire spans from the Baroque and Classical periods through passionate Spanish and South American rhythms to contemporary music.

Temperament, precision and technical mastery are all characteristic of GuitarTrio 1+2. Most impressive is their ability to challenge eachother and explore the depths of the music so that all layers are examined. This mutual understanding and collaboration has developed and matured since 1989 through countless concerts in Denmark and abroad, and radio and television broadcasts.

The players – Maria Camitz, Lars Henning Jensen and Leif Hesselberg – have all studied at The Royal Danish Academy of Music. Individually they have built a name for themselves within Danish musical circles. Together – as GuitarTrio 1+2 – they have formed a union which brings new dimensions to guitar music and which has inspired the critics to white ”temperament, charm, precision, mastery and glow”.
